After the rise of Adolph Hitler in Germany in the early 1930’s, Hannah Arendt’s apartment in Berlin became a shelter and hiding place for fugitives as they fled Nazi persecution -- even though Hannah herself was a Jew! She kept up her fearless activities for nearly seven years until she herself was finally taken to an infamous internment camp. But, of course, she
somehow managed to escape before she could be sent on for "extermination." That’s just the way in-your-face women are.
